Aesops Fables - Australian Music
Aesop's Fables were an Australian pop and soul group whose product was picked up for promotion and release by Chess on the Cadet Concept label. The group comprised of Cheryl Blake (vocals) , Jimmy Doyle (guitar), Russell Dunlop (drums), Michael Lawler (bass) and Gary Moberley (keyboards).
The group, which started off as an R&B cover group formed in Sydney in 1968, disbanded and reformed in the early 1970s.
Their manager was Paul Keating, who later went into politics and became Australian Prime Minister from 1991 to 1996.
Atlantic Records also released some records by a group with the same name, on their Atco subsidiary.
