"Lenox Avenue" recorded one single on Chess, and is now thought to be an early incarnation of the Chuck Rainey Coalition. Chuck Rainey and Richard Tee are believed to be responsible for the recording.

Bass guitarist and multi instrumentalist and author Charles Walter "Chuck" Rainey III was born in Cleveland, Ohio on 17 June 1940 and is a well known session musician, appearing on recordings by Aretha Franklin, Steely Dan and Quincy Jones. He has played on more than one thousand albums and is the most recorded bass guitarist in history.

Pianist, arranger and singer Richard Edward Ten Ryk (Richard Tee) was born in Brooklyn, New York, on 24 November 1943. He was a graduate of The High School of Music and Art and of the Manhattan School of Music. His many recordings - there are hundreds of them - include Aretha Franklin and Simon and Garfunkel.
Richard Tee died in New York from prostate cancer on 21 July 1993.
