Jack Myers | Flexiage | tc1112
Bassist Jack Myers was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on 28 January 1937. In the 1960s he revolutionised how electric bass was used in blues music, and was one of the very first Chicago bass players to adopt the Fender Precision bass guitar. Buddy Guy says that Myers obtained his first electric bass guitar, which had been owned by Willie Dixon, from a pawn shop. His studio partnership with drummer Fred Below became very influential. He features on recordings by Buddy Guy, especially his famous work on "Sweet Little Angel", Junior Wells' Hoodo Man Blues album, and many others. Jack Myers left the music scene in the mid-seventies and died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 9 March 2011.
